In last month’s blog, I addressed the Millennial mindset in regards to real estate. At the moment, Millennials are anywhere between 18 and 35 years old. While, obviously, the younger ones are probably not looking for houses, several of the older ones are. But this generation has a slightly different mindset about housing. In this ongoing series of blogs, I will offer tips and tricks on how real estate agents can improve their marketing strategies so that they may appeal to Millennial buyers.
Start A Blog
It may seem incredibly strange, particularly for older agents, but starting a blog is a great way to appeal to Millennial buyers. With any free time that you have, hop on any variety of blog-hosting platforms and begin writing away. Write about topics that you know and have experience in. You could write anything from new trends in real estate to best tips on how to find an agent. Show the market that you understand your industry. This is a great way to build up a community and something of a fan base. The more followers you have, the more potential you have of getting your name out there and landing clients. It also establishes your credibility and can make you seem like much more than just a real estate agent by making you feel more human and relatable.
You could also simply add a blog to your agency’s existing website.
Be Open and Communicative
As previously mentioned, becoming human and relatable is very important for the Millennial generation. They prefer seeing a face and dealing with an actual human as opposed to another agent from a faceless corporation. Again, you can utilize technology to get yourself out there. Several social media apps, like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, allow you to live stream almost anything. This is a perfect way to demonstrate a house showing. Simply turn on your smartphone and stream away! It shows that you are actively trying to communicate with the social media community, as well as accommodate their schedules.
Again, the Millennial mindset is a very different one than previous generations’. Make sure to utilize some of these tips into your marketing campaigns and you will see success. Stay tuned for another entry!
